Objectives:

  1. The student will be able to demonstrate an understanding of using a database by
    sorting information by book rating, reading level, genre, and author.
  2. The student will be able to create reports of the sorted database information.
  3. The student will be able to evaluate the database information when making future
    book selections.

 
Procedures:

 

1. Open Book Rating database

2. Click Forms under Objects column

3. Double-click Student Name Book List

4. Add new books to database using the form

5. Close form, save

6. Select Queries under Objects

7. Double-click Query by Wizard

8. Double Arrows

9. Next

10. Finish

11. Widen columns

12. Click Book Rating column

13. Records > Sort > Descending

14. Sort by Author, ascending order > File > Print

15. Close window

16. Click Report in Objects column

17. Double-click Report by using Wizard

18. Next

19. Select Author for the Sort Order

20. Select Book Title in second sorting field

21. Next

22. Tabular click Next

23. Select the style

24. Next

25. Finish

26. File > Print
