Objective: After Reading Absent Minded Toad in the Harcourt Reader, the students will study the life cycle of frogs and toads. This PowerPoint project will be used as an assessment. The students will type, in the template, facts about each stage of the life cycle. If they use the word amphibian they could receive bonus points.

Procedures:
1. The students will study the life cycle of frogs before beginning this PowerPoint
2. Click here to open the template: Life Cycle of a Frog
3. Save this template in their folders on the (S) drive
4. Click on the first slide and type your name beside the word: By
5. Click on slide 2 and type information about the first stage of the lifecycle of a frog including what this stage is called.
6. Repeat step 5 for all four stages.
7. Go to File>Save
8. Go to Slide Show>View Show to watch the final product.
9. Go to File>Print WARNING: Before printing have the students select handouts under the caption: Print What. Then, they will select 6 for the number of slides to a page. Make sure they are printing to the correct printer and click OK.

Assessment: The students will use the correct name and include facts for each stage of the life cycle of a frog.

Modifications:  The students will come to the lab with the correct facts and name for each stage on a piece of paper or the students will only write the name of the stage without facts.

Extensions:
The students will add other graphics, transitions, animations, and sound to the PowerPoint. The students will use AutoShape Callouts to label the A-HA that they learned during this study (G/T fluency idea). The students will create another PowerPoint illustrating the life cycle of a butterfly.
