United States Marine Corps Lieutenant Colonel Stroman was born in Jourdanton, TX. He graduated from Jourdanton High School and attended Texas A&M University on an NROTC scholarship. He graduated from Texas A&M with a degree in Physical Education and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine. Lieutenant Colonel Stroman holds a Master of Arts degree in National Defense and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. Lieutenant Colonel Stroman has commanded Marines for 8 years of his 23 years of service and has commanded at all levels from the platoon to the battalion. Lieutenant Colonel Stroman’s duty assignments include: The Basic School – Quantico, Va. Field Artillery Basic Course – Ft. Still, Ok 1st Marine Brigade – Hawaii While serving in the 1st Mar Bde, LtCol Stroman participated in two Western Pacific deployments and visited numerous locations (Okinawa, Iwo Jima, The Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Somalia, Kenya, Diego Garcia, Egypt, Yemen, Beirut, Cyprus) Ft. Still, Oklahoma for Instructor Duty Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School – Quantico, Va 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina While serving in the 2nd Mar Div, LtCol Stroman commanded Battery F, 2nd Bn, 10th Marines and served for 5 months in the Republic of the Philippines and in combat operations during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Guantanamo Bay, Cuba – While serving in Cuba, LtCol Stroman was the operations officer and served in support of the Haitian refugee operations. 9th Marine Corps Recruiting District, Rock Island, Illinois Quantico, Va 2nd Battalion, 14th Marines, Dallas, Texas 2000 – 2001 – Naval War College, Newport, RI Marine Forces Reserve Headquarters, New Orleans, La LtCol Stroman retired from the Marine Corps on 1 August 2003 and is currently employed by Midway ISD as the Senior Military Instructor at Midway High School. LtCol Stroman was awarded the Bronze Star with combat “V” for actions against enemy forces during Operation Desert Storm. LtCol Stroman’s other personal awards include, the Meritorious Service Medal (Gold Star in lieu of second award), Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal with gold star, Humanitarian Service Medal with 2 bronze stars, Coast Guard Special Operations ribbon, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal. LtCol Stroman is married and his wife, Renee, is the 7th grade girls coach at 7th grade science teacher at Clifton. They have two sons.
