Classroom Rules

All school policies will be enforced in accordance with the Midway Student Handbook.

            * Students should not be talking when Instructor is speaking.

* Understand that any misbehavior that stops your Instructor from teaching or you and your classmates from learning is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

*Students should be in their assigned seats when the tardy bell rings and should remain seated until they are dismissed once the bell rings.

*Students must show work to receive a grade.

            * Students must bring, binder and supplies daily.

*Students must be respectful to Instructor, fellow students and guests.

Supplies

  • One and one-half inch or two inch binder with a zipper bag
  • Spiral (used for taking daily notes)
  • Pencils or mechanical pencils
  • Red pen
  • Notebook paper
  • Straight edge (small ruler is fine)
  • Graphing calculator – I would recommend the TI 84 Plus Graphing Calculator.  Purchasing a TI 84 Plus is totally option,
  •             but you must have at the very least a SCIENTIFIC calculator for homework.
  • Box of Kleenex OR roll of Paper Towels
  • 1 pack of AAA batteries

Homework/Testing/Grading

  • Homework is graded in class.
  • Late homework assignments will not be accepted.  Your lowest daily grade will be dropped.
  • Test grades count 50%.  Daily grades count 40%.  TAKS prep is 10%.
  • Tests are given three or four times per six weeks.
  • Parents will be notified at the end of the third week of each six weeks if the student’s grade is borderline passing (74) or below.

Make-up Work

  • When you are absent, you are required to complete the work that you missed.

It is your responsibility to copy the assignments you missed from the

Assignment Calendar.

  • Complete your make-up work within the time allowed by the Student Handbook.
  • If you are absent on the day of a pre-announced test, you will take the test on the day you return.
  • School Activity absence – Ask for your assignment before you miss class.

Cheating Policy

  • It is considered cheating if a student copies another student’s work.
  • Any use of unauthorized aides during a quiz or a test is cheating.
  • A student is cheating if he makes his work available to another student.
  • Talking during a test or quiz (even if your test has been turned in) is considered cheating.
